2011 Fly-Fishing School Calendar

 

February 26th & 27th - Spring is just around the corner. Now is the time to learn or refine your fly fishing skills – come prepared for some of the finest fishing of the year.

 

March 26th -27th –  Callaway Gardens blush with the blooming of its world famous azaleas – and brim with flowers and fish. The peak of the fishing season is at hand.

 

April 16th and 17th - The azaleas are beginning to fade but the fishing is hot, hot, hot!  This school affords you another great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Spring while learning the great sport of fly fishing.

 

May 21st & 22nd  - Perhaps the most beautiful time of year, Callaway’s plate-size bream are in full action now! 

 

June 25th and 26th - June is prime time for fly fishing in most parts of the country.  Aquatic insect hatches are beginning to come off now.  Callaway Gardens is an excellent location to get prepared for this incredible event and welcome Summer.

 

July 30th  & 31th   - It’s Summer vacation time!  Why not bring the whole family for a weekend together to learn an amazing sport you can enjoy for a lifetime? Children 12 and up are welcome to enroll in our classes (with adult supervision). Or bring a Boy Scout along and fulfill the requirements for the new fly fishing badge installed in 2002.

 

August 27th &28th - Because of the popularity of our Summer schools, we will offer another one this year.  If you can’t make it in June or July, plan to attend this one!

 

September 24thand 25th The warm days and cool nights of Fall are in full swing.  Mountain Creek Lake is home to some giant red-ear sunfish (shellcrackers).  What better time to learn to fly fish?

 

October  23rd and  24th  - Fall is spectacular at Callaway Gardens.  Pine Mountain is ablaze with the roaring reds and golds of Autumn. Bass and bream are enjoying the cooler temperatures . . . and are incredibly active.

 

November 19th and 20th - The very last opportunity of the year to catch our two-day school and a spectacular time of year to visit Callaway.

 

 


 Cost of our schools will be $295.00 per student for both days.  Price includes use of premium equipment during the school, and a delicious catered lunch on both days.


Full-day, private instruction is available by reservation. This option offers a condensed versions of most of the classroom, fly casting and fly-fishing instruction available in the 2-day class. Call (706-881-3249
