43-Pound Hooch Striper on the Fly

Joel Daniel of LaGrange landed a 43 pound striped bass on this fly. A pretty standard deceiver, tied with deerhair in lieu of hackles. The hook shank is wrapped with lead tape for weight, and then coated with epoxy & glitter. The long Dan Blanton-style "flash-tail" really gives this fly the action - if you haven't tried the "flash-tail" on your flies, you should. More on Joel's big stripe....
